Previously on VG247, I described it as a worthy successor to Sonic Mania - and I meant it. Largely the creation of one supremely talented Sonic fan, Triple Trouble 16-Bit is genuinely brilliant. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of Triple Trouble 16-Bit, it’s essentially a remake of the 1994 Game Gear title of the same name - but reimagined as if it were crafted for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive as a direct sequel to Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I’m talking about Sonic Triple Trouble 16-Bit, which I’ve written about on VG247 before - but this excellent fan game now has a newly updated release that adds new content and makes it available for more platforms. That option isn’t even official - as is often the case for many of the best things going for the Sonic series. To see this content please enable targeting cookies.
